# Variable: P256\_MULTICODEC

```ts
const P256_MULTICODEC: Uint8Array<ArrayBuffer>;
```

Defined in: [packages/core/src/identity/did.ts:10](https://github.com/leifriksheim/minca/blob/main/core/src/identity/did.ts#L10)

Multicodec `p256-pub` (0x1200) as a varint. Per the did:key spec the key that
follows is the 33-byte compressed point, which is why P-256 DIDs start `zDn`.
